Ashe Group appoints new directors

John Child has been appointed pre-construction director of Ashe Construction and Luke Dodd is now group chief financial officer.

John Child joins the board after a decade with Ashe. He was estimating manager until a promotion in June 2019 to head of pre-construction. He is credited with having unlocked new markets for Ashe within the health and defence sectors and secured some of its most prestigious projects.

He said: “I am excited to begin my new role and continue to build on the strong relationships we have with our clients. Offering early engagement, we can help them achieve their expectations. I am also looking forward to exploiting further opportunities to expand our network and continue our recent successes.”

Luke Dodd joined Ashe in 2019 from defence contractor MBDA, initially as deputy financial controller, then project financial controller and he then became head of finance in 2022.

He said: “I’m excited to step into my new role, where I’ll be focusing on unlocking value across the entire group. I believe collaboration will be key, not just externally, but by strengthening relationships and alignment within our teams.”

Ashe Group chief executive Robin Blake said: “These are well deserved appointments. Both John and Luke have played key roles in delivering sustainable growth for the business and successful operational outcomes. They bring new knowledge and experience to the senior leadership team, and I look forward to working with them in their new roles.”

Ashe Construction’s recentl projects include a £12m extension to Bedford Academy and a new £24m primary school and community health hub at Milton Keynes East.
