Cardo has been appointed by Caredig to deliver maintenance works, scheduled upgrades, major works in empty homes, routine repairs, and out-of-hours emergencies across more than 2,800 homes in Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, and Neath and Port Talbot.

The contract, worth up to £8m, will run for an initial two years, with an option to extend for a further two years.

Caredig, which means ‘kind’ in Welsh, is a nonprofit registered social landlord based in Swansea.

Head of assets & compliance Stuart Thomas, at Caredig said: “We are delighted to appoint Cardo as our trusted partner for these vital works. Their expertise and collaborative approach will help us maintain safe, comfortable homes and deliver excellent service to our tenants.”

Rhydian James, managing director at Cardo (Wales and West), said: “This contract reflects our commitment not only to maintaining homes to the highest standards but also to supporting the wider Caredig community through meaningful employment, apprenticeships, and local projects. By working closely with Caredig, residents, and local groups, we aim to create lasting social, economic, and environmental benefits that improve the places people call home.”

Cardo, formed out of a private equity move into  LCB Group in 2023, established its Welsh presence by acquiring Cardiff-based A&N Lewis in April 2024.
