Enhancements will including a new activated sludge plant (ASP) chemical dosing system, an additional final settlement tank (FST), and improvements to the sludge treatment process to ensure compliance with new phosphorus discharge permits.
Kier’s natural resources, nuclear & networks division has been working on the project on an early contractor involvement (ECI) basis since March 2024 and is now moving to the build phase. The £24m project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
The project has been commissioned as part of the water industry’s eighth regulatory asset management period (AMP8) investment cycle.
