Alasdair Reisner has left the Civil Engineering Contractors Association after 17 years with the organisation, initial in external affairs and since 2014 as chief executive.

He announced his move to Mace on the LinkedIn social media platform, although volunteered no explanation of what the role of ‘advisory director’ will specifically involve.

Reisner joined CECA in 2008 from the trade paper Construction News, where he was on the news team.

Reisner becomes the second prominent trade association staffer to be recruited by Mace in recent years. In 2021 it recruited Hannah Vickers from the Association for Consultancy & Engineering to be ‘chief of staff’ to chief executive Mark Reynolds. Last year she was moved to ‘head of advisory’, leading Mace Consult’s advisory services operation.
