The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), in collaboration with the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC), has launched the Roofing Chartered Membership Programme (CMP) – a route for experienced roofing professionals to achieve chartered status and become an MCIOB.

The Roofing CMP programme is designed for applicants with at least five years’ experience in roofing, and who manage people, processes or projects – and who have £1,395 to spare. It is part of CIOB’s growing range of sector-specific chartered membership programmes.

The Roofing CMP has combined CIOB’s experience in professional education with NFRC’s understanding of the roofing industry to align the course with the needs of roofing professionals.

CIOB Academy director Adrian Montague said: “The Roofing CMP reflects CIOB’s mission to support all areas of the built environment in achieving excellence and professionalism. Through this initiative, experienced roofing specialists can now gain chartered recognition for the vital role they play in delivering quality and safety across the sector.”

NFRC chief executive James Talman added: “This collaboration with CIOB gives our members a unique opportunity to gain chartered status through a programme designed specifically for their expertise. It’s a significant step forward in recognising roofing as a professional discipline in its own right.”
