Mike O’Donnell, previously managing director at Sir Robert McAlpine, has joined Turner & Townsend as UK project management consultancy (PMC) lead.
O’Donnell is supported by Al Fernie, who joined as project director in April and Jason Smith, who joined in March as a director in the firm’s real estate team.
O’Donnell brings nearly four decades of experience, including leading on landmark developments such as the London 2012 Olympic Stadium, the O2 Arena and Bloomberg London.
Al Fernie has had long spells with Balfour Beatty and Multiplex. He joins Turner & Townsend to lead the construction delivery of major complex projects and will be responsible for assembling construction delivery teams across several sectors including data centres, mixed use commercial, healthcare and pharmaceutical.
Jason Smith also has main contractor experience, having worked for Durkan as operations director and before that was with Mace for 10 years. At Turner & Townsend he will focus on enhancing the technical and operational delivery strategy of live projects, particularly in the data centre and technology sectors.
